Suggestions for weekend trek

Can anyone give a good suggestion for a hike in NH other then Monadnock that would be managable in bare boots this time of year? Or is it just to early?

I don't know your location, but the Wapack Trail is near Monadnock and should be mostly clear. It is fairly tame and a bit civilized, but I enjoy it for shorter hikes when I can't go north to WMNF.
