Trail from Denning more or less passable, with a few blowsdown * here and there, some of which we were able to clear. The Neversinks numbered about 5 today, with the largest 2 bridged (barely) and 3 more passable by rock hopping. The steel bridge is seriously contorted upstream on the West side, and down stream on the East side. There is a new stream on the very easternmost side. A few rocks where it starts would help control it...

We got up to the leanto and met Manfred, a 60-ish gentleman who had stayed the night. He said he had been coming up here for 25 years, and seemed to know the area as well as JB. Speaking of Boutons, the leanto is doing pretty well. The roof does not leak, and Manfred spent a comfortable night, no bugs, or mice! After cutting down a big blowdown that crossed the stream trail and the main trail, we had finished our toughest work.
On we went to the summits, great views, in spite of the lousy weather forecast. Back down to the car and out for some bear meat! Mmmmmm!
* - Yes, that's correct, think about it!
