Snow fell above 2k ft Friday afternoon and night. Saturday the temp stayed right at freezing until late afternoon. From the Loj to Marcy dam the trail was wet and wet snow. Above the dam the trail was mostly snow. At 3k ft we had a consistent foot of snow. The trail to Tabletop was unbroken but easy to follow. At 3.5k the snow was 3plus feet. On the return trip the Marcy trail can best be described as slush. Waterproof boots failed to keep the water out of anyone's boots. Because of the snow was so deep there was no need for any technical equipment.
