Spectacular photos. They definitely capture what it means to hike in the winter.

What was your turn-around time? I am guessing that you stuck to one since your turn around point was pretty random.

We didn't set a special time, but roughly figured that we would see where we were at @ 2PM. Based coming to an area that was very exposed, the ominous view of the ridge/summit, and the general way people felt, we agreed that we shouldn't push it. Could we have summited and been well down the Edmunds path by the time it got dark? Sure - we all had head lamps, so we could have finished on easy terrain in the dark, but we were there for fun, views, and experience - summiting was secondary. Now we get to go back and do it again in a few weeks when it is officially Winter!
