The Bonds, #46 thru #48, 12/10/05

I think I'll do a real trip report for this one, my 46th, 47th and 48th, when I'm not so tired and once I've had a chance to reflect on it all. Didn't even get off the trail until VERY late last night and then had to work at 8AM today .... wasn't sure I would even be able to walk not to mention the lack of sleep, but I got there ... and today I can say I did it, I completed the NH 4,000 footers :). I'm not sure anyone thought I was serious that I wanted to try for all 3 summits in one day, before January 1, but with a little help from a couple of new friends, I made it out alive ( .... barely an exaggeration honestly!!!) AND completed my NH48. Slightly more detailed report and hopefully pictures coming soon.
Thanks to everyone who hiked with me, gave advice, or helped in any other way ... I couldn't have done it without you. I am inspired by and owe huge debts of gratitude to some special people out there; I was thinking of them as I finished, and take them with me on every hike I do. Thank you.

A hearty congrats to finishing your 48 in what sounds like was dramatic fashion! Looking forward to the pics and more details. :D :D :D

Effing-A!! Great work, Chris. Way to be.
I thought of you a few times on Saturday (you know where I was) and wondered if and hoped you'd given it a try.
Wow am I happy for you!

Ok, there's like 7,000 of us now, but it still feels special to be the ...

MOST RECENT ONE TO FINISH!!!!

Enjoy the moment! Congrats!

Glad I did it, definitely, and it does feel very good to have done it, particularly since the last 3 made for such a difficult but very memorable hike. But there is nothing particularly amazing about it at all ..... it's just a matter of walking and walking and more walking, after all :). But it is something more, for sure, as it is for everyone, and what exactly it signifies I have not completely figured out yet. What is clear to me is that I could not have done it without so many of all of you joining me on hikes along the way, (some of which have been long, difficult and would have posed navigation challenges for me were I alone) offering advice and support, and sending heartfelt congrats now .... I am humbled and moved by your support and encouragement and I thank you all .... Awww shucks  ..... I really don't know what else to say but THANKS :D

PS ... Hey drewski, who says I do?! .... Oh dammit, yeah, you're right, I do!! ;)
