The easiest direction-wise is to get off at exit 29. Take a left from the ramp onto the Blue Ridge Road. Drive west for about 16 miles and take a right onto Tahawus Road. Follow the signs to Upper Works from here. The trailhead is at the end of the road near the ghost town.

By the way Adam, your new user name is pretty cool! I can picture the actors, but not the name of the program that featured that police call name. I want to say Dragnet, but I know that's not it. Can someone help me with this senior moment I'm having! I've fallen, and I can't get up!

Pay attention while you're driving those 16 miles on Blue Ridge Rd.. There's alot of winding curves, no shoulder, and plenty of deer to run in front of you.

Hate to do this to you masshysteria but the name of the show was "ADam 12". The main characters were Malloy and Reed.

Thanks Tom!

I ran directions from Map Quest and they said once I hit the Northway to take exit 23 then take a left onto cr-35 then turn right onto us-9 then left onto ny-28 then right onto 28N

This seems like the run around to me. I like your directions better Zac. Do you all think that getting off on exit 29 is better?

Thanks,
ADAM

Getting off at exit 23 is the long way. If you go up to exit 29, you will probably get to the trailhead about 30 minutes faster. Plus there's a lot less direction that you have to remember.

another route

Actually, it's somewhat shorter if you get off at Exit 26 (Pottersville) and then cut over on county roads to Rte 28N through Olmstedville. I usually drive back this way as there are signs directing you to the Northway (I87) if you are coming south on 28N.
