Incredible day, my first time on the Twins. What views :D Trail was in great shape, the water crossings were doable with some rock jumping. We did the bushwack, very easy, on the way down to avoid two crossings. I can imagine that these crossings are quite difficult during any high water time. Other than that trail was perfect as was the day!

I was with a group on the Twins yesterday also - with BigEarl, Steven and Jen. I loved this hike with the pine tunnel on the ridge and gentle trail. Where is the bushwack?

I did them on Saturday for the first time and was blown away by the views, especially the North Twin outlook's view of Franconia and Garfield Ridges :D I was solo, so took my sweet time on the return, making many stops to enjoy being alone in the woods and just listen to the quiet. I'm looking forward to returning some day.

It would definatly be hard to do those water crossings in the spring without getting wet! It took a little looking around to find the easiest way across even with the water levels being low. Seemed like going a little upstream helped.

I was thinking about the bushwhack for a while. Then, after considering the entertainment value in Steven's approach to a stream crossing I forgot about the bushwhack.

As you know, he came through it with dry feet in both directions.

Maybe next time. :)
