Thomas Cole and Black Dome 2/12/10
2 of us from Long Island hiked from Barnum Rd to Big Hollow Rd
Trail Conditions: Lower sections were crusty. Mid sections had some new snow over ice. Upper sections were deep powder in many places.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes. We broke trail from Barnum Rd to the junction with the yellow trail. We lost the trail a few times so don't rely on our route. There was one tricky spot descending from Black Dome.
Comments: Sunny with some wind in higher elevations. Overall, it was a great day.
