floodplains of south central.
trails used;counter clockwise=3 ponds trail to mt. Kineo trail to Donkey hill cutoff back to 3 ponds trail.parked at Stinson road trailhead.
tr. cond;Mt. Kineo trail was slight mud with leaves mixed in.Can not tell how much this trail gets used.Crossings no problem.Trail merges with snowmobile trail.
Donkey hill cutoff;goes up hill to left off of mt. kineo trail[which goes forward and then to right past boulders, somewhat confusing, very nice waterfall though]
3 ponds trail; a muddy MESS!lots of bridge work being done, big pile of pressure treated old bridge beams looking ugly...Looks like a logging road.Trail also is part snow mob. trail.
comments;very hot with terrible bugs out and about.Ponds were very chill.Nice hike to do with limited time on a wet day.Sprinkles almost all day.No need for rain gear with this tropical weather.Did loop in a little over two hours.Ponds were fogged in most of hike.Unless one loves mud, maybe wait on this one till mid summer,it needs time to dry off.....
