Trail Conditions: barebootable easily to the Avalon A-Z jct. Packed snow and ice started immediately there . Pretty solid packed snow up to the col. Mt Tom Spur ledges were quite icy..rest of trail packed snow..Brook crossing were all fine though the 4th one a bit icy
Equipment: I used microspikes from the gully just past Avalon A-Z jct to the summit and back again..made for pretty easy going..
Comments: Driving through the notch I kicked myself for a late start..a perfect day in the Whites.. But any 4k is better than none and actually the views from Tom are pretty good right now..Great above treeline day though..woulda shoulda coulda gotten up earlier and gone high...oh well
