trail cond;avalon-nice and packed with fair amount of minor blowdowns.stream crossings a
bit tricky[due to ice on rocks].recent snowfall left nice 1/4" base to
make traction easy.
a.z.-several nasty blowdowns,still packed[thanks dude from other day]had to
crawl under some of blowdowns.
mt. tom spur-packed down loosly due to only one set of snowshoes[yesterday].
started with s.shoes then took them off and opted to just bareboot it
to the top.
spec. equipment;ice ax which doubled as pole.gaitors essential.water proof shell due to snow all over place.
comments;tons of snow!driving up not as much till north of franc. s.p.clouds came in fast at summit.trails of fire on other side of craw. notch must have been wolfgang running up the mountain.happy holidays to all. [email protected] www.nneht.blogspot.com
road update;saw official dude at Zealand road gate...he said it is shut for the winter.
