Started at Clay Meadow and up to the ridge to Fifth Peak.
Trail is in fine shape, very dry on the ridge due to lack of recent rains. The junction sign at the spur trail to Fifth Peak leanto is missing. The range trail is well defined with markers. At Montcalm Point was picked up by boat there so I cannot comment on the condition of the Northwest Bay 5 mile trail walk out back to Clay Meadow from the "tip of the tongue". Did not see any rattlesnakes. Make sure to bring plenty of water on this hike, exposed sunny ridge and lots of ascents and descents along the way.
