Monday, 4/25: The trail was in good condition. Some snow (2-3 ft. in spots) but little post holing, and no need for snowshoes, at least as far as I went. Crossed the Opalescent, at the permanent temporary crossing! Cold, and just below my knees (18 inches). I brought aqua shoes to help. Someone left a pair of sneaks, just in case. The other side of the river, the trail was great. I think I'm ready to do the rest (not sure on the Skylight brook crossing, but probably easier than the Opalescent).
