Our party of five plus 3 dogs camped at Slide Brook. Saturday climbed Macomb slide, then Carson (South Dix), Grace (East Dix), Carson again, Pough and Hough. Three continued on to Dix and a head-lamp return to camp. 2 plus the dogs took the path from the Hough-Pough col to Lillian Brook to return in daylight. All the herdpaths, including Lillian Brook path, are clear of blowdown, thanks to hard work by the Adk 46er volunteer trail crew. More mud than I would have expected after several dry days, especially on the red trail between Slide Brook and Dix junction. Water-proofed boots and gaiters are the way to go.
