After the previous day in Gulf of Slides we were looking for something more relaxing and mellow. One half the group decided to chill out by climbing the Ammonoosuc Ravine in search of Monroe Brook while Seeker, Mark, and I headed out to the restful terrain of Tuckerman Ravine.

We got a late start, hiked slowly (except for Mark who had fresh legs) and made it up to the Bowl around 12:15. We tanked up some water and headed up Left Gully for our only run of the day. I'd skied Tux twice before, and Seeker had been there once, but today was probably the best conditions either of us had seen there. Left Gully was firm in places, but the sun had turned most of it to nice corn snow. Mark met us on his trip down, we climbed to just below the throat and took our run. Great snow, great skiing!

We hung out in the Ravine for a while, eating the rest of our food, taking it all in, then headed down around 3:00. We had to hike down from the base of the Bowl for 100 yards or so, then skied the Little Headwall and out to Sherburne, all the way to Pinkham. No walking for us, but lots of resting as our legs were toast.

Great weekend, great skiing.
