Date: 4/27, Sunday
Trail: Tuckerman Ravine Trail
Special Equipment: Stabilicers, pack rain covers, cushions to sit on, binoculars
Comments: Conditions on Sunday were quite different than Ellis experienced on Saturday due to morning showers. Because of the forecast there were fewer skiers and fewer onlookers. Most of our group wore Stabilicers, which gave just enough added traction to make it worthwhile. Fog kept rolling in with occasional breaks. Sometimes we couldn't see much, then the view would clear for a short while, then the fog built again. There were some people without snowboards/skis who were "caught" above lunch rocks (which were "closed" due to ice fall.) Two rangers climbed up to them, had them put on helmets, then secured a line above them and...well, we couldn't tell what happened after that, as the fog rolled in again and we could no longer see them.
