Conditions: No snow and minimal mud and blowdowns, all readly avoided. Bugs just starting to be an issue.

Great views and surprisingly few people: we saw just 1 other couple the entire day.
Caution: the trail sign for the Bald Knob Cutoff trail is missing; the trail branches off to the right about 0.7 mi after the parking lot where there's an empty wooden sign posted on a tree - if you come to a "Caution Bridge Ahead" sign you've gone too far.
