Trail Conditions:
Old North Twin:
- packed powder, snowshoe track
North Twin:
- packed powder, snowshoe track to third crossing
- Intact Snow/Ice Bridge over third crossing
- Conditions persisted to about 3600 feet, then deeper snow - 8-12", now packed by 12 or more people.
- Windblown from the outlook knob to the summit of North Twin.
North Twin Spur:
- Windblown in the col, occasionally difficult to follow, but we never really lost it. Some deep drifts.
Twinway to Galehead Hut:
- Packed powder / glissaded
Frost Trail:
- Concrete sidewalk
Garfield Ridge Trail:
- 12-15" deep snowshoe track, packed powder
Gale River Trail:
- Deep snowshoe track to log bridges
- Concrete sidewalk below
Beaver Brook Access (campsite #3, Gale River Road)
- Concrete sidewalk
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes. There was no need for crampons or 'spikes. Everyone we saw today (probably 2 dozen or more) was on snowshoes.
