Sue and I are planning to hike a Twins – Galehead – Garfield Traverse on Saturday, 5/29/2010. The planned hike will start on Haystack Road and end at the Mt. Garfield trailhead on Gale River Road.

We hike a moderate pace, which is around book time or a little more. Considering the past few days we’ll probably be a comfortable amount over book time.

If you’re interested in joining the fun or have any questions, please respond to this thread or by PM.

Additional details....

We are planning to meet at the Mt. Garfield trailhead (summer trailhead) on Gale River Road. The meet time is 6:00am. After we consolidate gear, we'll head to Haystack Road and the N. Twin trailhead for the hike. We hope to be on-trail by 7:00am.

Past experience seems to indicate on-trail around 7:00am will mean back out around 8:00pm, depending on time lost enjoying the views - and there are a lot of great viewpoints.

Since the Galehead Hut is now open we can plan to travel relatively light and re-supply our water at Galehead and the Garfield Ridge Campsite. Most likely, we'll plan to have a lunch break at the Galehead Hut.

There are currently three on the hike and plenty of room for more.
