Started out with no snowshoes necessary but needed them once beyond the Ranger Outpost. Snow depth at trailhead was 4-6 inches and very wet and meally. Hard travel and slow going. Once you gain a little elevation [to Outpost] the snow is fluffier and well packed. I took the South Trail to the Wolf Jaw trail to the Wolf Jaw Lean To. Had to break trail the entire way. Snow dept at Lean To is 12-14 inches. After 2 inches of fresh powder overnight, had a nice climb to the summit. Snow depth on the summit was about 2 feet. A few pitches of ice underneath the snow made it a little slick. Did not use crampons -trail does not get much exposure to the sun. I would imagine a trip up Lower Wolf Jaw will be much more icy. Spent the night in the Lean To and got a fresh start this morning. On the way out, about a mile from the trail head was real mushy and a pain in the neck -snowshoes didn't help.
