Started at noon. First 3.2 miles were snowmobile-packed and only a little mushy -- fine with stabil-icers or microspikes.
Next 1 mile was a combination of wet, muddy, and deep snow, with a high stream crossing (fell in).
Final mile or so had 2ft of soft mashed-potato snow that was unbroken on top of a stream -- very very tiring when using 36" snowshoes; even so, they bottomed out every other step.
Going down the newly broken trail was much much easier.
We power-walked the last 3.2 miles and finished the 11.4 miles in around 6:45.
