I wandered over to Stamford Peak in southern Vermont this past weekend, and while on the mountain's high point, I observed a small wooden sign. It was weathered to the point that it was basically unreadable, but seemed to read MT - and then a person's name (or at least so it appeared, because it was two words). Would anyone happen to know what this sign says? I'd be curious to know what other names people have bestown upon this peak.

This question was previously answered in a note that seems to have gone with the wind

The GMC sign inventory calls it Mt Meulbroek

I used to call it Klondike after the nearby BM, it's Seth Warner on the 3k list

name

I thought it Unamed peak Stamford and I agree it is a nice hike.

Once I get my pictures back, I'll have to look at the one of the sign to see if it looks closer to Meulbroek or Seth Warner. The thing is so weathered now that I can't remember now what it more resembled. Is the former of Native American or Dutch origin? Plus, considering all that Seth Warner did during the Revolution, one would think that he would have merited a taller mountain (after all, even the lower peak on Ethan Allen is higher).
