Saturday 11/7/09. A tough bushwhack, missed the cairns across the talus slope for the herd path and went all the way up the talus--big mistake. Ended up approaching the peak from the East, and had to scramble up a very steep rock "wall." Found the canister though, and the herd path back down toward the South West. An inch or so of snow added to the slipperiness, but microspikes helped deal with this--found microspikes to be of use even with no snow for the steep slope down and for traction on slippery logs and leaves. Number #71 NEHH for me and eighty something for my hiking partner Jim.
