The weather was favorable today as I packed for a trip to Weir Hill in North Andover, Mass. Ray and I went for a wonderful leg workout at the hill. Trails were in terrific shape, well groomed and easy walking. As we made the acclivity of the hill we were welcomed with a pastoral scene of the countryside. It was open and grassy, and as if I stepped into a painting of the Hudson River School.
For such a small effort Ray and I were rewarded with a perfect day strolling through the leaf covered ground. Stone walls abound in our exploration and were groves of white ash. We contemplated the views of Lake Cochickawick and saw the boat house of Brooks Academy. Weirs Hill is a wonderful local hike and is strongly reconmmended for trail running or a medatative stroll in the woods. The land is owned by the Trustees of the Reservations. The website for the hill is http://www.thetrustees.org/pages/373_weir_hill.cfm
I will be including photos of our pleasant hike shortly.
