Hi hikers and readers,
Last Saturday, after a miserable raining day in Sawteeth, Junior do not like a cold shower, but appreciated the Ellen-Queen noddles dinner, a large part of the Allen warriors team had a early meeting near the Correas road bridge.
Warrior Jeff was in late, just arrived when We start to drive at the Summer parking. "too many beers at the ADK winter meeting" Junior.
The gate was open and the road just a little bite icy. Other groups meet with the same goal or Seymour at the summer parking.
Easy hike on lest of one inch of new powder. Ice bridge to cross Calkins Brook, Mike colapse a part of the bridge but without a cold bath. "too many beers......" Junior
When We started to go up We put the snowshoes on just to have a better grip. Easy to stay in the usual path before and after the blowdown.
Junior passed the usual junction Seward Donaldson, impovised a bushike and find the path near the Donaldson summit, sorry warriors and other hikers.
Short break in Donaldson summit, Mike takes a couple of pictures, We restrated with Emmons ennemy in head.
Junior losed the path and We hiked in bad bushike with a couple of spruces traps!!! "Too many camera flash in my eyes" Junior
He Junior "You are a liar the flash camera was only after We come back in Donaldson" Alain
We stay in the usual path when We come back from Emmons and made a tree gate for the other hikers.
After a long break (a couple of minutes) in Donaldson with a jam traffic when Junior ask for sun glass (too many camera flash) my answer "only if You promise me do not make the same game of Jeff" (lose 2 times his glass) Alain
A short hesitation when We go down in the Donaldson Seward coll, but with the visibility Junior made a great job to stay in the usual path. Perfect view in Seward summit, Mike take other pictures.
We take a shortcut in the col and refind the usual Colkins Brook path. After 8 hours 45 minutes, around a Jeff beers the warriors celebrated this great odyssey. Joe had a nice smile in face and everybody was very happy.
Thank You all warrior to make this day a perfect hiking day.
You can see in alavigne (Andrew) a better report in vftt.
Have a great day.
