Plan A: Washington and Jefferson

Meet at Marshfield Station – Base Road, lower lot at 8:00am and start hiking at ~8:30am.

From Marshfield Station, hike a loop to Jefferson and Washington via the Jewell Trail, Gulfside Trail, Jefferson Loop Trail, Gulfside Trail again, Crawford Path, and Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail.

We plan to hike a moderate pace. The book time estimate is approximately 9hr. 10min. We expect to finish the hike approximately 6:00pm – 6:30pm.

The weather forecast looks pretty good with the possible exception of wind. The wind forecast has dropped quite a bit in the past 24 hours. If the general forecast holds and the wind forecast continues to improve slightly we’ll hike this hike on Sunday.

If you’re interested in joining this hike or have any questions please respond to this thread or by PM.

Plan B: Tripyramids

If Mother Nature is uncooperative and forces a cancellation of Plan A, our Plan B is the Tripyramids via Pine Bend Brook and Mt. Tripyramid Trails. If necessary, well post the Plan A cancellation and Plan B meeting details at least one day in advance.

See you on Sunday!

:)

It looks like we’re finally in the forecasting comfort window for the high summits, specifically Mount Washington. The Sunday forecast indicates another rare above-the-treeline weather day.

Currently, the Sunday forecast from the National Weather Service: Mostly sunny, with a high near 33. North wind between 5 and 10 mph.

As it stands right now, we’re on for Washington and Jefferson on Sunday. I really don’t expect that to change.

If you’re planning to join the hike or have any questions please respond to this thread or by PM.

Thanks.
