I wanted to pass along an invitation to "Family Fun Day" in Waterville Valley this Saturday, June 7th. Each spring, the resort throws open the turnstiles for a day, allowing guests to try out all kinds of summer activities free!
Activities include kayaking and canoeing on the town pond, mountain biking, a scenic (OK, maybe not by VFTT standards) chairlift ride, golf, tennis, and more. If you have kids, the local Recreation department puts on great programs. For more details, go to the resort website at: http://www.waterville.com/info/events/calendarevent.freevenue.item.asp
The weather looks pretty promising for Saturday (http://www.weather.com/outlook/recreation/ski/weekend/03215?from=36hr_topnav_ski) -- if you're up in the Whites and want to try out a few non-hiking activities, this is a great, low-cost way to do it. At least last year, this wasn't the mob scene you might have expected (YMMV).
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Waterville Valley Resort -- I am just passing along the info to fellow mountain-types, especially those with kids... if you have any questions, feel free to PM me...
