Sunday turned-out to be a good for hiking S. Hatfield., S. Herrmann, and I. We arrived at the trail head, but there is only room for one vehicle. However, 200yds back to the main road is a giant parking area with a sign that says "Trail Parking". The trail was in excellent condition. Well marked and very broken-in. We climbed strait up to Star King. It's a steady climb, but not difficult.
From there we hiked across to Waumbek was a little windy, and unfortunately we were in the clouds all day. No Views. On the back side of Star King it looks like there would have been some excellent views.
Snow shoes are needed, but rather easy trail.
Climb high!
