Five of us met this morning to celebrate our friend's first round of her 4,000 footers. Despite highway signs asking hikers to use caution, and brand new signs at the trailhead about the storm roaring down on us, our excitement carried us forth with educated confidence. The day was mild and this is a grand hike. I loved the views into the notch and that we could see our parked car at so many outlooks as we hikes up and beyond. Saw only two other hikers and their two dogs all day. Enjoyed the company of Canada jays as they followed us from one summit to the next. Trail down was quite rough and we took great care. The sun set and we pulled out our headlamps. Celebrated again at the parking lot, then again with dinner out.
