Aside from the fact that we are likely getting another snow storm this week, spring is never coming and the world is going to end...

Does anyone know what the current conditions are like on the Welch Dickey Loop? Last conditions I have read are from about 11-12 days ago.
Thanks.

You will still have snow in the woods. The ledges and slabs were clear just before the last snow storm but now have a thin layer of snow on them. I’m looking out my window at Welsh/Dickey as I type this and I can still see patches of snow on both. I would at least bring stabilizer. I’m not sure how much snow we will get before the weekend, so I will let you know by Friday afternoon what the conditions might be like.

I was all over the mountains the last few days and even 3000 ft peaks where covered. Welch and Dicky are known for being some of the first peaks to clear in the spring, BUT this last storm seems to have set everything back. The ledges will clear fast but the woods and cols will have snow imo.

I'm about two miles from the trailhead and received about 7 to 8 inches of heavy snow last night. Expect to break trail if you head out early on Saturday. From my window at work I can see that all the slabs are now covered in snow. Have fun.

snow in the woods?

Do you think bare booting will be possible, or would you recommend snow shoes? I hope to do the loop a week from today. Thanks for any advice you can provide

It's snowing right now...unless we get some rain or some thawing, you may need snowshoes...the trail gets some traffic, but it'll be interesting to see how much during the week.
