West Slides on Dix- how do you get there?

Hi Folks,

In the Discover the Adirondacks guidebook, the slides on the West Side of Dix are listed. I tried to find them on Sunday and I'm sure I was in the right spot on the trail to Hunters Pass but I couldn't spot even the faintest signs of a herd path. Does anyone have any clues or are they totally inaccessible now due to hurricane damage?

I was curious about those myself last year. I thought I saw a path way out there around that last stream crossing as you head north toward the pass, but that’s not very descriptive, I know, and I didn’t even go down to check it out to see if what I was seeing was actually a path or not and if it led to the slides or not.

Those slides look impossibly steep as you go up through the pass anyway.
