Led a YMCA hike to one of the Catskill 35ers. Lot of fun. Trillium and Dutchman's Breeches in bloom as well. The Shin Hobble were not out on the way uphill, but blooming down low on our exit.
For 2 hikes in a row, 2 days apart, my Lab Bookah managed to anoint herself with human waste deposited in the woods. This time she decided to perfume herself near the trailhead on the way in, and then about midway down.
Not sure who enjoyed her cold water stream bath less on the way out to the car. So far in 2 days, the pigs 3 and civilized hiking community 0.
Wanted to head some better feelings to Tom(TFR) and Laurie. We ran into them at the cars after the hike. They led a 3500 Club outing on the other side of the valley. They really know how to treat their charges....Tom invited our group over to their parking area for ice cold beer, cheese and crackers.
Had a chance to catch up and the cold ones tasted really nice. Thanks, guys.
