Where not to live around Mt Rainier (Lahar map)

I thought this map of the historic lahar activity around Mt Rainier was pretty interesting. I was surprised to see the frequency and travel distance that the moderate lahars have. Perhaps I'll hold off on that Tacoma waterfront. Well, sure, I can joke. Wouldn't be too funny for those there though.

The schools in Orting (see the map) conduct twice-annual lahar evacuation drills. The town has several sirens installed for warning residents, using signals transmitted from sensors on Rainier. They estimate about 42 minutes from warning to arrival.
