19 Mile Brook trail was pretty well broken out. From Jct. of Carter Dome Trail to Wildcat Ridge Trail the snow was softer. One walk around blowdown (which was cut up when we returned). I had just arrived at the base of Wildcat A when two other hikers showed up with their beautiful Husky. Thanks to Chris and Duane for doing most of the breaking. One person with skis with skins had gone up before us. The trail is now broken but still loose. 19 mile brook trail is now very well packed with todays traffic. Snow shoes a must for the ascent to Wildcat. Other traction not needed.
