I was just up in the Whites for the weekend and didn't notice until my last day that this Wildcat Mountain ZipRider was open. Has anyone checked this out? If so, how was it?
I just did the Zip-Line Canopy Tour that goes out of Lincoln a couple months ago which has 7 zip lines and that was awesome. But this Wildcat thing looks much different as it's only one line cable and it looks more like a seat?
Just wondering if anyone has done both and what the similarities and differences are. Thanks.

I haven't been on it, but I recommended it to someone from work and they loved it! For those who don't know, it starts at the top of the beginners' chairlift and goes by the lodge and to the back end of the parking lot.

My how times change... the taming of the zipline. When I was a ute, my dad put a telephone pole up in the yard & ran a steel cable out to a tree about 200' away. Spikes went up the pole to a little steel platform braced at the top. We'd clip in with a steel carabiner & two loops of webbing to hang on to, & launch into the void. Good way to wear out steel carabiners. He decided to take it down after the cable somehow got a kink & the neighbor kid fell off when he hit it, breaking both wrists in the process. That was back before everyone was sue happy. In retrospect, it would have been easy enuff to rig a safety line with a seat harness, but somehow part of the thrill was hanging on for dear life! Guess all those safety straps serve a purpose!
