Looks like you guys had a real nice day too! I was not expecting Sunday to be so warm though. Bring on the snow!

Way to go Jessbee on #25!

Jamie-Good luck in your upcoming marathon! :D

Sweet! Just keep reminding those grouse that they're tasty on the grill...
:)

This was a great hike. The VFTT on Mt. Hight was really amazing, and for the most part we had the trails to ourselves, on a weekend! Quite a difference from hiking the Franconia Ridge the day before.

Jamie--as always, nice pictures and TR!

The grouse are stubborn because they aren't tasty on the grill. Well, Spruce grouse aren't at least. They have no predators (and therefore no fear of humans) because their flesh tastes like turpentine due to their diet of spruce needles and buds. Just had to point that out because i am a complete and utter geek!!! :D

Sounds like it was an awesome hike. I may repeat this route very soon as I have the Wildcats and the Carters left on my own list.

Nice trip report, Artex. I am so tired of doing home repair and not being able to hike. AAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! (Stomping feet like a petulant schoolboy)

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

I had always wondered what grouse tasted like. Never thought about WHAT they ate would affect how they taste. :)

Madriver, we'll have to get together for another hike sometime once your housework is done. :D

Definitely. I'm hoping to do Grey Knob or Crag Camp as a Friday overnight in the not too distant future. I will PM you when I have a date. Pedxing, you are also invited.

I would like to do the RMC huts once before the serious snow hits, and once in the throes of winter.
