Wildcats E & D via Lost Lake, Wildcat Ridge, and down the ski slopes
Date of Hike: May 2nd
Trail Conditions: Lost Lake from Pinkham has a couple blow downs and beavers working hard. Wildcat Ridge trial clear and ice free up and over the first ledges. Once above the lowest ridge there are pockets of snow and soft monorail so I used snow shoes. From E over to D you definitely need snowshoes as there its still about 2-3 ft deep either side of the monorail but not much ice. Faced with more soft stuff over to A I bailed and went down the ski slopes (upper catapult, middle wildcat, and bobcat). Mix of grass and snow fields, and very wet.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes a necessity in the col's.
Comments: Overall nice hike, even saw fresh bear tracks but unfortunately nothing to photograph.
