Date of Hike: March 7, 2009
Wildcats D-A and back
Trail Conditions: Ski trail was a bit icy on the way up at 9AM but quite soft on the way back down. WCR was firm leaving D Peak but quickly got softer as the temps rose, the winds died and the sun hit the open areas. By the time of return to D snow was quite soft even in the center of the trail.
Special Equipment Required: Crampons helpful on the ski slopes early but switched to snow shoes very early on WCR leaving D after starting to leave foot prints a few inches deep. Snowshoes required after mid-morning to avoid ruining the trail.
Comments: A beautiful day to be out. Even a bit too warm. Met up with Jerry from Boston on WCR for an enjoyable hike.
