Hi all...just a quick question

We are going to Madison on Saturday (Sunday looks stinky!) and will be parking at Appalacia parking lot.

I know that from some trainheads, you need a permit displayed or you get fined. Do you need one for Appalacia? If so...how do I get one by Saturday?

Thanks.

No, Appalachia is a no fee lot since it is on State land, not WMNF land.

Most parking lots that require a parking pass have self-serve kiosks so you can pay when you park. If you want to buy a yearly pass, they are sold in many places nearby (does Lowe's sell them?).

Imzadi, I don't believe you get a "ticket" even if you park in a "Fee area" without a sticker. Unless something has changed, the FS just leaves an envelope on your windshield, requesting that you pay up for a day pass.
