Another test passed -- we still know how to drink beer in WNY!! To be sure we tasted and tested out way through Monday evening making sure there weren't any bum beers at JB Quimbys.

Rochester showed up as Mavs00, NY Brad and Dynostick, Buffalo repped itself through AlG, Guiness and his wife Ann and myself. Livingston County came through with Ward, his girlfriend and Scott, a lurker who has been shunned from membership due to VFTT's "filled at the Inn" status. BTW... his family owns a winery with award winning wines... maybe membership could find room...

ADKatie and 46r son Nick showed up after his swimming practice to spend some time with us. Good to see them and distort his father's standing in his eyes!!

Fun being with so many faces that we all know and meeting some new. Typical sharing of info, stories and off the edge meanderings. Never any ice to break when you have a VFTT/ADKHighPeaker's together, 'cept Brad always looking for ice... Tim's scouting slides, Ed putting together trips... We hit those ADK's, Whites and Maine for sure... Rainier and some more for sure.

Great to see everyone and thanks to Tim for finalizing the plans.

As the night went on... Be a 46r... ADK100... and some more...

(Note Slamdog and TeeJay delivered flimsy excuses for their absences, and we missed rdl, oldsomers, and a couple others)

Great time. Let's do it again as time goes by...

A try to include a couple pix -

I was going to come (so as to nab the leather apron) but got stopped at the border due to a burned-out licence plate light. Next year.

Agreed, A good time was had by all. Dynotrick joined in on the traditional after-gathering gathering with myself and NYBrad. Brad was obviously feeling under the weather since he only kept us out til 1 AM, as opposed to the customary 2 AM close.

And for some reason, my mid-morning (was supposed to be morning) run today just didn't quite feel as good as it normally does. Hmmmm. go fiqure........

Good beer, good food and esp. good people, what else can you ask for. And I second Bubba's request to "open the books" and let Scott in. OTOH, it'll now be kinda fun to look through those 60 "guests" online and wonder which one is him. :D

Thanks everybody.

Neil, it just wasn't the place to wear the apron. I had it with just in case we had a grumpy, unattentive waitress, however!!

For the record, I just checked and, once again, I was the furthest from the gathering!! Lewiston or Springville would be pretty close and it map tested just that way... I did 94.5 miles and Guiness did 91.4!

Oh, your name came up, BTW... :p

Had a great time as always! Nice to see the gang again. I forgot who I was talking to about the route "Bloody Mary", but it's up in Poko and was first climbed by John Turner, Dick Strachan and Dick Wilmott in 1959. For more than 15 years it stood as the toughest route in the Dacks. :D

ditto

Sorry I missed as well. Mrs. L was trying to set me on fire at home. Apparently, I've been spending a little too much time at camp in the daks. There will be another time though. And I third in finding a spot for the guy that owns a vinyard. I think anyone that owns an alcohol producing business should be allowed to join.

Flimsy excuse??

Can you say, "domestic traquility?"

Sorry I couldn't join you friendly folks to share a few foamy, frothy, frosties and join the forum for fables, fabrications and foibles of our feeble, foiled, failed and frustrating forest forays.

Next time, soon.

Okay, with that reply I apologies for the flimsy. Little did I know what it would have set off!! (excellent...) At least you didn't direct any f words AT us

Ahh yes , those that could not attend did indeed miss a good time.
And i will say in his absence Scott also had a great time. He told me he went straight home a made notes of all the things that he could remember that were talked about. I know he is planning to head up the 18th for three days .
Thanks again for the get together and hope to see youall on the trails again soon.

Pix -- not the best in the world. Unlike hiking, I don't travel with spare batteries...

Don't you be yelling at me!!!!! They work for me, and I'm sure that it's because I have rights to the album at Webshots. I had/have it public, so I don't know what else. (Hard to test when it lets me see it...)

Actually, because there was on ly two, I was trying to put them embedded in the post text. According to a post the PapaBear made on the Site Help forum, using the square yellow box above would bring it in, but I got a link... Tim I noticed you just posted a picture within the post on another thread. What's the procedure?

you should be able to see them here
