Today six of us did a xc ski trip through the Livermore Pass. We started at 10am on the Livermore Trail to the Greeley Ponds Trail. The snow was soft powder on the Greeley Ponds trail. We picked up the ski trail from Greeley Ponds and continued on the Kancamagus Brook Trail through the Pass. The terrain was steep along the brook. Two of us used skins and it made the climb much easier. The day was mostly cloudy but we could see the alpine hill, which is now closed for the season. We continued and picked up the Livermore Trail. Noticed some confusing USNF signs to go to the North slide of Tripyramid. It says that you can do a 4.5 mile Livermore "loop". To do this you would need to climb Tripyramid and come out on Livermore trail from the south slide. If you weren't familiar with the area you might think that the Livermore trail went up that way, instead of continuing straight. We did continue straight on the Livermore trail -still on powder until the bridge where it became groomed. We arrived back at the parking area at 3pm. The total miliage was under 10 miles. Try doing this before it all melts. There was at least two feet of snow on the trails.
