I skied there last week, and the main road up the hill was a sheet of ice. I went up the snowmobile trail to the left, so I'm not sure of the road condition further up, but I suspect it's plowed.

Yesteday (Fri) Zealand Road had been recently plowed and had a very hard packed layer of snow cover, icy in spots. I would say it's skiiable but it's definitely not through any soft powder...it's a pretty slick surface...there was a small amount of powder over near the sides that is probably long gone and since packed down. I passed 26 skiiers coming out.

You could also *try* to ski the ski trail(s) parallel to the road. But, I've gotten lost on them. They aren't always obvious through the campgrounds and logging areas.....

Thanks, all... I ended up tagging Hale via the FWT. I opted to leave my skis at home this trip. Snowshoers (3) were in the minority yesterday to the skiers (25 +/-)... at least I was down from the FWT before the entire hillside was tracked by skiers.
