Trail Conditions: Trails were newly broken out with 4-6" of powder over another 4-6" of crust. The two open trails have been well cleared at this point. Above tree line is mostly ice to summit. Only the two trails mentioned in the title are cleared and open at this time.

Special Equipment Required: Traction recommended below tree line and pretty much essential above tree line. Crampons worked best but microspikes or snowshoes would be better than barebooting. There are still larger rocks and steps protruding thorugh the minimal snowpack in places so snowshoes would be the least useful of the three forms of traction mentioned.

Comments: As the the White Cross and White Dot trails just reopened, it was fairly crowded up there for a winter weekend although I did have the summit to myself for awhile. They've got a ton of work to do on the rest of the trails and are accepting donations and taking names for future volunteer clean-up crews. Help if you can.
