The Mt. Major trail is in good condition. The ledges were dry. The Belknap range trail over to Straightback is also in good condition albeit with a muddy section below the summit of Straightback.
The Quarry trail was increasingly difficult to follow as we headed to East Quarry. On East Quarry, due to blowdows and fairly recent logging, the trail gave the impression of being a bushwhack with a somewhat clear herd trail.
The Quarry By-Pass has been very recently reblazed and was easy to follow, but it also had numerous blowdowns.
The Boulder trail was in good condition.
The views from Mt. Major were stunning to say the least. The trails north of Mt. Major were empty. This was an absolutely outstanding hike.
We found an unsigned note with greetings when we returned to the car. Greetings to you too whoever you are.
