August 14:
LincolnWoods/Wilderness Tr -> Franconia Brook Trail -> Garfield Ridge Trail -> Mt Garfield; back down Franconia Brook Trail -> 13 Falls.
LW/W tr: intensely boring. FB tr: merely dull to 13 falls, pleasantly moderate above. GR tr: rough, as always.
All stream crossings trivial: ankle-deep at Redrock Brook, others were shoes-dry.
August 15: Lincoln Brook Tr -> Owl's Head Path -> Owl's Head (4025' peak); back down Owl's Head Path; Lincoln Brook Trail -> Franconia Brook Trail -> Wilderness/Lincoln Woods Tr
Northernmost part of Lincoln Brook trail often narrow, muddy, with blowdowns. Would not want to attempt at night.
All stream crossings easy: southernmost two crossings were mid-calf, could probably have found slightly higher rocks to hop but why bother?
Some idiot put flagging every twenty feet on the Owl's Head slide and along a quickly-eroding "bushwhack" at the top of the slide; I removed a bunch but I know I missed some. Probably the same idiot dragged branches across the Lincoln Brook trail as if it were closed beyond Owl's Head Path - they must have gone up just ahead of me because when I came back down they'd done it again with even bigger branches.
