  • Admittedly, I WAS a bit of a derelict in HS but actually never painted the puking pig!
    ;-)
I grew up in St Johnsbury. STjohnsbury Academy and Lyndon Institute are big rivals
Hi Puck, thanks for the greenie, and I'd love to discuss homeschooling. Over a beer sometime, or perhaps out on the trail..?
I can't give you two green squares in a row, but if I could, I would give you another for the post at 10:47 AM.
Thanks for the greenie...yes , we did go the extra mile but it was worth it!!
Nice way to hike up..but very long day with those poles on my back..hitting so many trees along way!!
Bummer Puck, I kinda figured that may end up being the case. Oh well, I'll still look foward to your pics from FOT!
Wish I could see you too Puck, but I'll be in Montreal. First event that I will be missing.
I want to get it done this year, but after looking at the schedule, and my schedule, I don't think I can fit it in. I think I saw something that said we can just spend a day doing trail work with our region leader, and that will count as our "recertification."
In my mind the real geeks are the ones who race from summit to summit and don't know a White-throated Sparrow from a Bald Eagle. So, my friend, I'm sorry, you're not a geek. : )

    Thanks for the greenie!

I don't think the birding will be an addiction :) ( I'm sure they all say that!), but it definitely added another layer to enjoying the woods. We got to watch a Swainson's flit about just ahead of us on the trail, and it was nice to be in the woods late, and then early the next morning. I may volunteer with them in the vernal pool study as well....
We're may go across the pond to the UK . . . not sure though. It's a big decision, especially with three young kids.

I wouldn't worry too much about the distractions at Dartmouth. I think they'll keep him busy enough that he won't have time to get distracted :)
Yup, I'm on Garfield Ridge. I'm pretty sure this will be my last season though. I'll be defending my thesis next spring, and then I need to do a postdoc. I'm not sure where I'll be going yet, but most likely I won't be staying in New England.

    It's a little bit sad . . . I've become attached to my trail :)
