Interesting. This was the first place I had been to that wouldn't fill my growler on the spot and that insisted that it be their growler. Admittedly, I haven't attempted this at more than a half dozen places...maybe it's pretty standard practice. Since they don't fill them immediately, it makes perfect sense to refuse "other" growlers. When I first discovered this, I happened to have come to town without a growler, but had stopped at the other brewery in town and purchased a growler earlier in the week. I stopped in to get it filled with Ubu and then learned of their policy...so they lost a sale. (Already have two of their growlers and didn't want a third). Anyway, now I know. Fran and I love the place and now we usually remember the LP growlers!
Hi Tom, thanks for the greenie. I fear, however, that this pooch is smarter than us. Lots of dumb-down training is in order..."be afraid of squirrels, very afraid..."
Still Lake Placid IPA! Sorry to say to the Vermont people, but that beer rocks! There were some other really good IPAs as well, like 0 Gravity (2!), etc. as well
