We got new carpet and new furniture. We figure we better buy the good things now while we still have the money hahahahahaha I think we are approaching another layoff Carp Fishing it is Trout season hahahahaha
I want in, but I have work on Friday. Where can I meet you Sat morning? Is Mon a full days hike? Not that that bothers me, I am use to late days on Sun/Mon. I take full advantage of my two/three day weekends. I just crash Mon after work, usually in bed by 9:00PM.
Thanks for the birthday wish Rob! Some more hiking this summer would be nice! Headed out to the Santanonis on Friday...should be interesting, good ol spring conditions!!
Ok, finally finished the trip report. I didn't put up all of my pictures, so if you want any more, let me know. I think I already told you, but I have a picture of every single trail sign, minus the High Rock one (that says 0.1 miles to High Rock). I also have a ton more pictures just of the trail itself. I was boring myself, though, looking though them all, so I figured other people wouldn't want to see them!
Cool, there are a lot of nice peaks, surely keep me in mind for some hikes. I love the catskills as much as the ADKs, it is quiet down here and the bushwacks are awesome.
Hey Rob, Mmm, I'm about to enjoy an ice cream cone myself..
As far as the Catskills go, I don't really use a guidebook although I have the ADK catskills guide. The best maps out there are the NYNJTC maps on the catskills, as you can find on the store at nynjtc.org or you can find them in scattered places like Campmor and some stores in the cats, The other good map is the Venture Out maps, which can be found at some stores in the catskills area. The VO maps are the work of an actual member of adkhighpeaks.com and are nice that they show more variety of DEP lands etc. But I would definitely get the TC maps... If you join the NYNJTC too, you get a discount on their maps and books and stuff...
