great news, walked the road from 302 in July, did not understand why it was closed to Edmunds- road is rough as it has been for years, but usable, at least to the trailhead. Also great that Sawyer river road is open now as well.

It is 2.1 mile from 302 side, 1.2 from base road. I went from 302 side and came back down over Pierce, not a bad day. The road seemed the same to me, others have reported a sinkhole, I did not notice on my walk? Perhaps it is near the base road? Anyways, I have seen reports that it may not be...

To add related issue, with 302 construction through the Notch, parking area full of construction material, Sawyer road closed, Mt. Clinton Road closed, parking was at a premium yesterday. Arrived at 6:45, Mt. Clinton road lot, Highland & AMC Depot all full. Get there early! Anyone have any info...

quick add on, not sure if you are trying to see Old Faithful- very crowded- but there is a trail 1/2 mile to a mile long that gets you up above the crowds with views of the thermal area and a great spot to watch the geyser go off- off to the right as you look at the geyser from the viewing area...
