Awesome TR, Una-Dogger and pix, Michael J. The TR really put me there with you on the trip -- I could practically feel that bitter cold!

That's NOT how you say it !!!

Reykjavik is easy (RAKE-yah-vick). it's some of the other names/words in Iceland that are tough! Try ordering a beer! ;) (Actually, it's not that difficult. 99.9 percent of Icelanders speak English) :D Here's another one: Raynham (Mass.) Most of us in our office were calling it RAIN-um for the...

NEW ENGLAND FAREWELL TO ALPINISTA and a Boston Beer night!!

The location After considerable consultation with the party organizer, VFTTers at this past weekend's winter gathering and a review of establishments within walking distance of North Station, we have come up with the perfect locale for this soiree: Hooters!!! 225 Friend Street, Boston. I hope...

    VFTT Gathering 10.0

As much as the idea of heading to the Canadian Rockies or somewhere down south sounds appealing, I'd personally like to see the gathering held somewhere in the northeast. It's where most of us are from; it's where most of the peaks we like to hike are based; and it just seems to make things...

    Winter Gathering

Wow! My first gathering was a memorable one. A huge thank you to Unfrozencaveman for hosting all of us. I didn't get in any hiking but I had a blast hanging out at the most massive bonfire I've ever seen, meeting so many folks whom I'd only gotten to know by reading their posts _ and then...

NEW ENGLAND FAREWELL TO ALPINISTA and a Boston Beer night!!

Oh, Stan Stan Stan. Will you ever learn??? I have NEVER rooted for the Red Sox! In fact, one of the great things about moving to NY is that I will no longer have to worry about getting slugged for rooting for the Yanks. I might get slugged for other reasons, but not for that -- at least...

NEW ENGLAND FAREWELL TO ALPINISTA and a Boston Beer night!!

Coldfeet: I'm gonna be living in Brooklyn and working in midtown Manhattan near Penn Station _ so anywhere in between works well for a VFTT gathering. Peakbagr: I am counting on exploring the Catskills and Dacks _ as well as still trying to find time to hike in northern New England. There are...

NEW ENGLAND FAREWELL TO ALPINISTA and a Boston Beer night!!

It'll be great to hoist a few with y'all. I can't think of a finer farewell than hanging out with ya. :D And, of course ... it'll be great for the NY-based VFTTers to host a WELCOME beer night once I'm down there! ;) (Yeah, yeah, I know, don't press my luck)...

    Mt Waubmek winter wonderland hike!

I'm so jealous at the wonderful weather you had! A few of us had planned to head up to Waumbek on Jan. 1 -- but the foul rain led us to switch gears and go up Tecumseh instead. It looks like y'all had a wonderful time with a great winter wonderland to enjoy!

Yup, Tecumseh. Nice catch. Edited it to make that clear, though TR did mention Waterville Valley! :D Guess even editors need editors from time to time!
